Penang scouting for food and jokes =D
Hey all! Had just came back from a real enjoyable trip to Penang with my fellow coursemates before heading back to UM days later for Minggu Haluan Siswa =D Had great time with Ling Hui, Kim Yeong, Leo, Shun Herng, Tecky, Jian Min, See Man, Wendy, Chong Jing, Stacey, Li Chin, Leong Hooi, Xin Ni, Andrew, Aaron, Ying Chieh, Jun Yin =D Thanks Peeps for the planning and your time =D
Well it's a 5-day-trip so instead of writing everything in timeline let's just hightlight a few things =D
1. Scouting for FOOD
2. Wall Art Exploring!
Seeing friends posting wall art photos and wall art photos and wall art photos do not make you feel them like the time you saw them with your own eyes! =D It seems smaller, and it's not an empty open area ready for picture snapping everytime - you had to avoid the cars, the motorcycles, the pedestrians, and the SUN at penang is brighter than ever. We are even sun burnt so we are literally bringing umbrella to everywhere. They're not as big as you expect in your brain. =) And it's so nice that besides wall art we had all sculpture as well =D My friends told me the wall art are fading away in two years time (probably due to the material they used). So if you had the opportunity go straight to Penang and snap those astonishing beautiful wall arts =D
3. Looking at Penang in a new way
It's a real good thing that you had friends all around - and it's time to look at Penang in a different way. Put the usual tourist attraction spot aside, it's your time to explore something else =)
St Anne's Church - Pretty church with some sculptures, well probably the biggest one i ever been to O.O
Khunthai restaurant- located nicely beside the beach, i likeee the swings and trees and the sun and the kid i met there =) And nice steamboat we had =)
Mengkuang dam- You wouldn't expect a jogging spot to be this pretty. When dawn approaches and the sun comes crawling in - one word. Breathtaking. =)
Chew's Jetty- besides the wall art, watch how the sea sparkles under the sun would you? =)
Bendera Hill- Revisiting after all the renovations had been done isn't a bad experience after all =) (or is it because friends are your company this time.? =D)
And I really think it's a good idea to visit to friends' schools - it's the place they came from, and they once shone brightly in there - and they shine when they talked about it. Ahha well for me, Heng Ee is a bit police-station-like, thanks to its colours, lol, but i was really amazed by the facilities offered in there - choir room, lecture theatres, and the touchscreen lift buttons ahha. Was kinda weird thinking why implementing no mirrors AT ALL kinda rule in the school will help in discipline - what if you had some bird shit kinda thing on your head and how you gonna wash it off? =p
I was constantly reminding myself not to forget to mention this speacial part of our journey- Go Ling Hoot =D Ahha it's actually the Mahindarama Temple, where in Hokkien they regard it as the God of Milk =D You have to really see how they bring MILK to come and pray. MILK. Dutch lady, Marigold, or you name it - it's all there. It's so interesting to find out how the students write letters, insert their timetables and HIGHLIGHT their subjects, or writing down their university of choice and insert it into the letterbox beneath. Well guess it's working though, having so many Penang coursemates each year coming into UM =P Guess I maybe have to revisit here before my MBBS finals. Hmmm.
4. 5. 6. n. Plain friend moments
Having said so much - the fun of travelling with you guys - Never knew we can be this close after a year of ups and downs =) Let's plan more trips in the future =P
P/s :Last but not least.
I spotted dmingthing in Penang ZOMG. Well but what to do no one knows who's them. They don't =.= (Yea go and find at YouTube now) It's like you spotted the star in town and no one bothers. (Well hadn't you watch his video saying about the 'Lee Chong Wei' Way? =p )
